Yes, I caved in for an egg sandwich and an Americana. Even the birds like Starbucks here.
Oh, for a pair of blue jeans
Add to the things I miss most are blujeans. I think I’ll have a bonfire of these hiking clothes when I arrive. They only got really tiring when I arrived here and every day, there’s one pair of hiking pants staring at me. Thankfully, there’s a tub for dual duty of laundering and baths/showers. My skirt doesn’t feel right here. You may not be surprised. ? Sent from my iPhone
Fall has arrived in Madrid
I toured the Royal Botanical Garden between rain showers today. It’s next to the Prado Museum and I wasn’t quite in the mood to tackle that. Lunch was in a restaurant that was the Spanish version of many restaurants in Boulder. The hostess was young, cute with scant clothing and the room was spare, packed and loud cool music. No complaints cause the food was delish. I have many shots of statues but they’ve all begun to look alike
Yes, indeedy, here it is
Coincidentally, it’s the first photo I took yesterday. I didn’t take many as the press of people, noise and general hubbub left me barely able to find my way. After the quietness of the Camino, I am having to adjust. At times you would pass through a village at siesta time and never see a single person. Even google maps is confused here. There seems to be no street that doesn’t lead into a plaza and then become a different street. I think about Anne being here and wonder….
Just for fun
A guest post! I won’t pinpoint her exact location in Madrid, but I will say that it is very close to the Madrid Church of Scientology. Who knew!
No end to the beauty
Whoops, how did Nelson get in there? I’ve seen the sights and tried the food (except for the Cod guts and sucking pig in its juices with spice) and now off to Madrid tomorrow, then home on Wednesday. I will have plenty of time to mull over this experience during the hours over the Atlantic. How great it was to meet people from so many countries, and listen folks! They are just like us. As far as any lesson I have learned, I am fond of saying it is how much I love my home.
