(from sam) We’re back on the trail! The sidewalk in Sarria was lined with mosaics. This one shows the symbol of the Camino—the shell, along with the symbol of the Knights of Templar, who protected the pilgrims in the 13th and 14th centuries. (Is this date right?)

guest post! i hope i haven’t messed things up for commenters with my security-tightening efforts. i’ve seen a lot of password changes recently. let me know if you are wanting to comment and are unable to.
and now for some bad news: my uncle (my dad’s brother) died a few days ago. the pilgrims have scrambled to get back to the states and ARE back home for one night. we are all convening in oklahoma later today. no solid info yet on what this means for the camino, but my guess is that it is postponed for a good long while.

here’s how far (above) mi mama y mi hermano have made it along el camino de santiago de compostela!
and it looks like they’ve just been kind of lounging around in the same place for a couple days (but sam may have a cold).
Just for fun
A guest post! I won’t pinpoint her exact location in Madrid, but I will say that it is very close to the Madrid Church of Scientology. Who knew!
